In A Perfect World, We Would Never Have To Say Goodbye To Our Pets.
We are here to support you during this difficult time. They take such a special place in our hearts and in our lives. It can be hard to imagine life without them. At some point, though, we will have to say goodbye. It is our desire to make that time as peaceful as we can. When the time comes to help your loved one say goodbye with no more pain, we are here to help you in any way we can.
Please schedule an appointment with us . This will allow us to give you ample time with your loved one in our quiet Comfort Room. There are a few decisions that will need to be made. We will need to know if you and your family would like to be present for euthanasia. We also need to know what you would like to do with your loved one afterward. You can take them home for burial at your home, leave them with us for a city burial, or choose cremation. If you choose cremation, we work with multiple local businesses to facilitate this. You will contact them, so make sure they accommodate all of your wishes. We realize these decisions can be difficult to make all at once, so you do not have to answer them while making the appointment. When you have had time to decide, please fill out our Euthanasia Check-In Form so that we can make that time as flawless as we can for you.
In order for you and your family to understand what the euthanasia will look like, we have added a short summary below. If you do not wish to know, please feel free to scroll through:
“Once we have gotten you and your family into our Comfort Room, a technician will take your loved one to the back to place an intravenous catheter. If your loved one is too weak or ill to be moved, we will place the catheter in the room. Once you inform the technician that you are ready, the doctor will come in to perform the euthanasia. The first injection given is a strong sedative to make your loved one relaxed and sedated. The next injection is flush to push the medicine through. The last injection is the one that will stop their heart. Some pets may take a few deep breaths or move their legs, but they are not feeling anything. This is just the body’s way of passing. The doctor will then listen to your pet’s chest and inform you when they have passed away. It is very quick, peaceful, and painless.”
Dr. Enevoldsen has written a blog expressing the way our doctors feel during this time. We consider all of our clients and patients to be our family. We respect them and mourn with you. If you would like to speak to a veterinarian about this decision, all of our doctors are available to help you through this time.
